Main Directorate For Combating Organized Crime And Corruption Left Without Chief
ANDREI PARSHYN

Is Lukashenko afraid of a security conspiracy?

According to Nasha Niva, Colonel Andrei Parshyn, the head of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption, has been transferred to the general's post in the Department of Operative-Investigative Activities (DOORD), which partially controls the law enforcement agencies themselves. The former head of the DOORD, Maksim Mironau, was transferred to a less prominent post after a series of failures.

Parshyn, 48, had been working at the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption for just over a year, starting on January 8, 2021.

The publication's interlocutors attribute Parshyn's promotion to his assessment as an "energetic employee" and his desire to increase control over law enforcers, amid the Russian-Ukrainian war.
