Ukrainian Intelligence: Occupiers’ Command Expands ‘Retreat-Blocking Detachments’ Activities

Russian soldiers are increasingly fleeing the battlefield.

The Ukrainian defenders repulsed the attack of the invaders near Bakhmut, after which the “LPR” units fled from the battlefield, leaving their positions.

The command of the occupying troops expands the activities of the “retreat-blocking detachments”, and forbids the soldiers to retreat under pain of death.

The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense reports this on its Telegram channel.

As noted, the Russian troops tried to conduct a “counterattack” on the positions of Ukrainian defenders stationed in the Bakhmut region. To do this, a blow was struck by the forces of cannon and rocket artillery crews of the 4th Motorized Rifle Brigade of the 2nd Army Corps of the RF Armed Forces (“LPR”). However, after the answer and advancement of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, the unauthorized withdrawal of the occupier units from firing positions began.

“In order to stop fleeing, the commanders of the units were once again forced to remind their subordinates about the ban on leaving their positions without permission, as well as about the possible opening of fire on them from the rear “retreat-blocking detachments,” informs the Chief Intelligence Directorate.

At the same time, the report says, the commanders refer to the Chief Commander’s order #222.

“Obviously, by analogy with the infamous Stalinist order #27 of June 28, 1942, under which Soviet soldiers were shot in the back, deprived of any opportunity to retreat,” the intelligence noted.
