Minsk Biker, Released From Prison This Summer, Detained Repeatedly In Another Criminal Case

Andrei Ivanyushyn is charged with three episodes under one article.

Human rights activists learned that biker Andrei Ivanyushyn was detained repeatedly in early August. He is charged with three episodes under Article 342 of the Criminal Code for participation in protests.

Andrei is a biker from Minsk. The first time he was detained was on February 1, 2021, as part of a criminal case initiated for an incident that occurred on September 19, 2020 near the Europe shopping center, when unknown persons began to detain one of the motorcyclists, and the rest began to defend him. As a result, Andrei was accused of “violence against police officers” (Article 364 of the Criminal Code).

On February 26, 2021, he was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison. The political prisoner served his sentence in Shklou colony #17. On June 2, 2023, Andrei was released after serving 2 years, 4 months and 1 day in prison.
