European Commissioner Kubilius: Ukraine's Defense Industry Is The Best In The World

The successes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are not solely due to the professionalism of its military personnel.

European Commissioner for Defense Andrius Kubilius stated that Ukraine’s defense industry is the best and most innovative in the world. He made this remark during the European Defense and Security Summit in Brussels, according to Radio Liberty.

According to the European Commissioner, representatives from the U.S. and Finland had previously described the Ukrainian army as the strongest in Europe and the best prepared for modern warfare.

In Kubilius’s view, the Ukrainian army’s success is not solely due to the professionalism of its military personnel.

“But why do they consider the Ukrainian army to be the best? My answer: not only because Ukraine has brave soldiers and intelligent commanders, but also because its defense industry is the best and most innovative,” he emphasized.

Kubilius noted that Ukraine has demonstrated the ability to rapidly develop and deploy new technologies that are shaping the nature of modern warfare.

As an example, he cited the rapid expansion of drone production following the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

“It would be difficult to understand why we shouldn’t integrate the world’s most innovative defense industry into the European defense and technology sector,” the European Commissioner noted.

According to him, European Union countries should more actively involve the Ukrainian defense sector in the common defense space and learn from its experience in rapidly scaling up arms production.
