Doctor, 'Man Of Year Of Vitsebsk Region' Arrested Again For 15 Days

On November 2, the judge of Kastrychnitski district of Vitsebsk, Uladzimir Tsarykau, repeatedly arrested "Man of the Year of Vitsebsk Region - 2014," head of the anaesthesiology and resuscitation department of the regional hospital Aliaksandr Hancharou for 15 days for spreading "extremist" publications in the social network.

The first time Aliaksandr was sentenced to 15 days of arrest under Article 19.11 of the Code of Administrative Offences (distribution of extremist materials) in mid-October.

When police officers checked Hancharou's gadgets again, they drew up another report on an administrative offence. On its basis, Judge Tsarykau ruled to punish the doctor with arrest for another 15 days, writes Vitsebsk Viasna.

Aliaksandr has a work experience of more than 25 years, was awarded the title "Man of the Year of Vitsebsk Region," and in 2020 received a gratitude from Lukashenka for his contribution to the fight against COVID-19.
