Defence Intelligence: Russia Will Attempt To Capture Several Large Ukrainian Cities, But In Vain

Ukrainian intelligence named the reason.

The Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine believes that Russia may try to capture some more cities in our country. However, the occupiers do not have enough strength and means to ensure that these attempts end in success for them.

This opinion was expressed by the representative of the Defence Intelligence Andriy Chernyak. According to him, Russia will try to capture even more Ukrainian cities if it has the opportunity.

At the same time, according to Ukrainian intelligence assessments, the occupying Russian forces do not have enough strength to do this. As Chernyak noted, capturing a city requires more than just inexperienced mobilized military personnel.

“Manpower is one thing, but occupation and retention require much more than mobilized, inexperienced military,” he said.

The representative of the Defence Intelligence noted that the situation is now stalemate for the Kremlin, since they announced the “incorporation” of captured Ukrainian cities into the aggressor country, although de facto this is not the case. In an attempt to achieve something, Russia will continue to sacrifice its own people.

“Yes, in Moscow they don’t count people, but they count money there. They will have enough financial resources for the war until 2025. And then we’ll see,” the Defence Intelligence representative emphasized.

Head of the Center for Military Legal Studies Oleksandr Musiyenko noted that Kremlin dictator Putin may indeed have some kind of “plan” on the table for the occupation of new cities by the end of 2026. However, this does not mean at all that the Russians can implement this plan.

Earlier, the German publication Bild, citing intelligence sources, stated that by 2026 Russia plans to capture three more Ukrainian regional centers: Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, and Kharkiv.
