WP: Britain Ready To Provide Kyiv With Long-Range Missiles

Britain is probably preparing to give Ukraine missiles with a range of up to 300 kilometres. Characteristics suggest that it may be Storm Shadow, The Wasington Post reports.

According to the newspaper, the International Foundation for Ukraine (IFU), led by London, which includes a group of northern European countries and is involved in sending weapons to the battlefield, published the request of the British Ministry of Defence on May 2.

The ministry asked the allies to "express interest" in providing Kyiv with striking weapons with a range of up to 300 km. An answer was requested within three days, WP wrote.

An unnamed British official refused to confirm the type, timing and quantity of the weapons under consideration. According to him, a final decision has not yet been made. The specifications and capabilities referred to in the request are "closely related" to the Strom Shadow cruise missile, WP reported.

"This announcement is a significant step towards Britain itself supplying such munitions[...] Storm Shadow can be mounted on Soviet-made Ukrainian aircraft and reach the territory controlled by Russia," the newspaper writes.
