Scholz Prigozhin's Conspiracy Made Putin Weaker
OLAF SCHOLZ

The power structures of the Kremlin have split.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that the military rebellion launched by Wagner PMC leader Yevgeny Prigozhin weakened Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

According to him, Putin's position is not as strong as he claims.

“I believe that he is weakened because it shows that the autocratic structures, the power structures have split and that he is by no means shaky in his saddle as he continues to assert everywhere,” Scholz said in an interview with the German ARD news publisher.

The Chancellor of Germany said that the situation in Russia remains tense and that Germany will act cautiously.

“Russia is a nuclear power. So we always have to watch carefully when dangerous situations arise, and this is a dangerous situation,” he said.

Scholz did not answer the question of whether he would consider it desirable to remove Putin from power.

“We don’t know if a better or worse figure will change Putin, after all,” Scholz said.

Charter97.org reported that the leader of the Wagnerites, Yevgeny Prigozhin, announced the start of a military coup. On June 24, Wagner troops took Rostov-on-Don and marched through the Rostov, Voronezh and Lipetsk regions of the Russian Federation. Wagner troops with armoured vehicles entered the Moscow region and approached a distance of 200 km to Moscow, after which Prigozhin ordered a retreat.
