AFU Break Through Russian Defenses In Three Sectors Of Southern Front

The Ukrainian army has gained a foothold on new frontiers.

Ukrainian defenders continue to develop attacks in three directions of the front. The heaviest fighting is taking place in the Zaporizhzhia region and the Bakhmut area. RBC-Ukraine reports with reference to the spokesman of the General Staff of the AFU Andriy Kovalev on the air of the telethon.

He noted that the Ukrainian troops continue offensive operations in the direction of Bakhmut, Melitopol and Berdyansk.

The speaker adds that the Ukrainian defenders have succeeded in breaking through the Russian defense and are consolidating on the lines Novodanilovka-Verbove, Novodanilovka-Robotino, Novodarivka-Priyutne in the Zaporizhzhia region.

The AFU also continues to attack north and south of Bakhmut.

"In the directions of Orekhove-Vasylivka - Paraskovyivka, Kleshchiivka, Andriivka, heavy fighting continues without any change of positions. The enemy is putting up strong resistance, actively using reserves, suffering huge losses," the spokesman said.

The Ukrainian soldiers also continue to hold back the enemy's offensive in the direction of Kupyansk and Lyman.

Earlier, the Ukrainian command noted that the AFU can take Bakhmut in a tactical encirclement. Recently, the commander of the ground forces, Oleksandr Syrsky, confirmed that all conditions for the liberation of Bakhmut have been created.
