Brigades Of 'Offensive Guard' Advance In Depth Of Russian Defence In Melitopol Direction

The Russians were knocked out of their positions with significant losses for them.

Ukrainian defence forces have advanced deep into the enemy's defence in the Melitopol direction. They also managed to eliminate up to a company of occupants.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the statement of Colonel Mykola Urshalovich, Acting Director of the Department of Planning of Application of the Main Department of the National Guard of Ukraine, during a briefing.

According to him, the personnel of the assault groups of the "Offensive Guard" brigades in cooperation with the AFU units had success in the Melitopol direction and advanced deep into the enemy defence in certain areas.

"During the offensive the Guardsmen eliminated a company of invaders and seized their positions, and destroyed the enemy's tracked armored gun tractor near Novoprokopivka," Urshalovich said.

Situation at the Front

As the Institute for the Study of War noted in its morning report, the AFU has advanced in several directions in Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions, while the Russians continue pressing on the Kupyansk-Svatove-Kreminna line.

A day earlier, the report said that the Ukrainian military were holding positions and advancing near Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia region. In addition, the defence forces advanced about five kilometres southeast of the settlement. Heavy fighting is taking place along the entire front line.
