Ukrainian Forces Shot Down Russian $6 Million Drone Near Snake Island

Ukrainian defenders destroyed the Forpost multifunctional enemy drone near Snake Island in the Odesa region. It costs about $6 million. The Press Service of the Ukrainian South Defence Forces reported.

“In the area of Zmeiny [the Snake Island - Ed.], the air defence forces eliminated the Forpost enemy drone - a rather interesting and dangerous thing. It is capable of not only conducting reconnaissance but also spotting targets with a laser for precision-guided munitions. The drone uses one electro-optical and one infrared camera as tracking and surveillance equipment, allowing it to be used around the clock,” the message reads.

It is noted that the Forpost can fly for about 18 hours and cover up to 250 km, and its improved version – up to 350 km. After modernization, an updated communication channel appeared on UAVs of this type, and it was also announced the development of suspended containers with additional systems, in particular, a radar for detecting targets on land, an electronic reconnaissance system, and a signal relay.
