Lukashenka To Meet With Cannibal Dictator From Equatorial Guinea
THEODORO OBIANG NGEMA MBASOGO

Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo arrived in Minsk.

Dictator of Equatorial Guinea Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo arrived on an official visit to Belarus on September 6.

The program of the visit includes “official negotiations with Aliaksandr Lukashenka, visits to enterprises, acquaintance with the potential of Belarusian manufacturers”.

The meetings will be held in narrow and extended formats. Based on their results, it is planned to sign a package of bilateral documents aimed at “development of relations in a wide range of areas — from the economy to the humanitarian sphere”.

The visit of Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo to Belarus was to take place at the end of June. However, at that time he did not come.

Mbasogo came to power in 1979, overthrowing the dictatorial regime of his uncle. Subsequently, he repeatedly appointed members of his family to government posts: for example, in 2012, his son Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangu became vice president. In 2016, the dictator was “re-elected” for a new seven-year term, and Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangu received the post of first vice president. In accordance with the laws of the country, in the event of the death of his father, he will take over his post.

Mbasogo is accused of cannibalism. In September 2016, the editor-in-chief of the Liberian newspaper New Democrat was detained for publishing an article about this. The authors of the publication claimed that the dictator of the African state is a cannibal, he authorizes the kidnapping of his opponents, and then eats some parts of their bodies, in particular, the liver and brains. It was also written that during the 30 years of Nguema Mbasogo's rule, he accumulated enormous wealth, while most of the country's citizens live in poverty, with almost no access to education and health care.

During the reign of Mbasogo, a cult of his personality was established in the country. In 2003, state radio announced that he was “like God in heaven” and was “in constant contact with the Almighty”, having “all power over men and things”. In 2013, the DPRK awarded Mbasogo the Kim Jong Il Prize.
