Ukrainian Forces Broke Through Front Northwest Of Donetsk

The Ukrainian army is located a few kilometres from Donetsk Airport.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have made progress in the Donetsk direction: they managed to break through the front near the village of Opytne, which is north of the Donetsk International Airport, dialog.ua reports.

Earlier, Charter97.org reported that the Ukrainian forces managed to liberate new territories near the airport during the September 6-7 battles.

On the afternoon of September 8, new details became known about the advance of the Ukrainian army near the village of Opytne close to Donetsk.

The DeepState maps show the advance of Ukrainian troops on the morning of September 8. Verkhovna Rada member Yuri Mysyahin confirmed it on Telegram.

Map says that the Defense Forces of Ukraine managed to liberate almost 2 square kilometres, coming close to the village of Opytne. The northern part of the settlement is mentioned as a grey zone, that is, fighting is taking place there.

Mysyahin clarified that the successful operation in this area was carried out by the 59th Motorized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. There are only a few kilometres left to Donetsk airport.

“As a result of coordinated actions, the positions of the occupiers were cleared, the Armed Forces of Ukraine moved forward, gained a foothold and returned part of the territories of Ukraine under the control of Ukraine,” the people’s deputy said.

Let us note that the activity of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this sector of the front caused panic among Z-propagandists. Collaborator Tsetsiana Montyan recently warned that Ukrainian troops are quite capable of entering Donetsk, occupied since 2014, and breaking through the Russian defences.
