Russian Military Command Embroiled In Massive Scandal

It was not only the Serbian mercenaries who rebelled.

The famous Serbian war criminal Dejan Berić, who in 2014 helped the Russians occupy the Crimea and then was a sniper in the Donbas, became the cause of a huge scandal in the Russian Federation. He said that Russian commanders mock foreign mercenaries and send them to certain death. However, this situation is not limited to the Serbs.

Now citizens of Nepal, Syria, Cuba and other countries are being massively recruited into the ranks of the occupation army, and they are being “disposed of” in Ukraine without regret, writes OBOZ.UA.

Scandal with the Serbs

The Russian army is rocked by scandals day after day, this time (unheard of) Serbian mercenaries rebelled. They reported a bestial attitude on the part of the Russian command and, in particular, the officers of the 119th Parachute Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces. The mercenaries fighting against the Ukrainians suddenly realized that they were being used as cannon fodder.

It all started with the fact that before the battle the Serbs were given 2-3 machine gun horns (“you’ll get the rest yourself”). The Serbs who refused to go into battle were accused of treason, beaten, expelled from dugouts and deprived of access to the kitchen.

The Serbs agreed with Kadyrov’s men that they would take them in, but in the end the transition never took place. The Serbs, of course, cannot return to their homeland: they face prison for mercenarism.

A video message from war criminals on the Russian social network Vkontakte was published by Serbian Dejan Berić (call sign “Deki”), who recently became Putin’s confidant.

But it’s not just Serbian mercenaries who have problems — it’s just that such information rarely leaks online. However, more and more often foreigners who previously believed the promises are fleeing from the Russian army.

So, now Tar Nikolos Jackson, who serves under a contract in the 27th Separate Guards Sevastopol Motorized Rifle Brigade, is on the wanted list in Russia, the military unit is located in the village of Mosrentgen near Moscow. This brigade is part of the 1st Guards Tank Army of the Western Military District, which is participating in the war against Ukraine.

The orientation states that the serviceman left his place of duty without permission and is “capable of deception.” A reward is promised for his capture.

“The farther the better”

According to the Ukrainian Center for National Resistance, the Russians are now intensively looking for mercenaries in Africa to participate in the criminal war.

“The enemy is conducting a recruiting campaign in the Kursk region, where they expect to recruit from 50 to 100 soldiers and officers to fill the so-called “African Corps.” The Russian Federation is creating it as a replacement for the Wagner PMC mercenaries who operated in Africa but went to the Northern Military District zone,” the report says.

The expansion of the contingent is planned, in particular, in the territory of Burkina Faso, and the main activity of the mercenaries will be the training of local and retraining of new groups of local mercenaries to be sent to the war against Ukraine.

And this is not fiction. Mercenaries from distant countries really fight on the side of Russia. First of all, the occupiers recruited foreigners located on the territory of the Russian Federation — those who studied or worked there. Then they began to systematically work abroad, opening illegal recruitment centers.

OBOZ.UA’s interlocutor in Ukrainian intelligence says that foreign mercenaries are called upon to replace “almost finished prisoners.”

“The flow of convicted criminals from Russian colonies to war is no longer the same as before. Many recruited into the ranks of “Wagner” were “thrown out” long ago in Ukraine, and now those in various units such as “Storm Z” are being “finished off.” And the occupiers need to replenish their losses. So they relied on mercenaries, who are quite cheap. In addition, they do not have relatives in Russia who will look for them and, importantly, demand payments and compensation. So the further away the potential cannon fodder lives, the better for the invaders,” the officer said.

According to him, mercenaries from different countries, including Somalia, India, Syria, Cuba and others, are already fighting against Ukraine in the ranks of the army of the occupying country.

For example, in November, Ukrainian defenders in the Melitopol direction liquidated a 38-year-old mercenary from China named Zhao Rui. It turned out that he was going to fight in the ranks of the Russian occupiers against the “Japanese militaristic fascists,” who, in his opinion, were recruited by the Ukrainians.

Recently, the Ukrainian Defense Forces captured citizens of Nepal and Somalia for the first time — which is further evidence of Russian criminal activity.

The situation with Russians recruiting residents of other countries has already led to scandals. It got to the point that, for example, Nepal has already called on Russia to stop this obscenity.

Milan Raja Tuladhar, Nepal's ambassador to Moscow, said that 150-200 Nepalese are currently mercenaries in the Russian army. “We send those who contact us back to Nepal, telling them about the high risks associated with serving in the Russian army. We return at least one citizen every day. All of them were brought to Russia to serve in the army,” he said.

The ambassador added that Nepalese citizens are lured with promises of big money and are mostly illegally transported to Russia. With the help of human traffickers, many Nepalese entered Russia on student and tourist visas and joined its army.

Be that as it may, one thing is clear: Russia, of course, will not stop recruiting foreigners. It is too attractive to recruit cheap cannon fodder for the war in Ukraine.
