Brest activist of the European Belarus Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk was sentenced to a year and a day in prison under the article on malicious disobedience to the administration (Article 411 of the Criminal Code), her husband Andrei Sharenda told Charter97.org.
Palina was convicted under this article for the third time.
Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk was detained on January 3, 2021. Security forces broke down the door of the apartment, conducted an inspection, confiscated a number of things, and Polina was detained and taken in handcuffs to the temporary detention center. She was later transferred to a pre-trial detention center.
On June 9, 2021, the Maskouski District Court of Brest sentenced her to two years in prison, after which her term was extended several times.
Over the years, she has been placed in a punishment cell several times, and also sent to cell-type premises for six months. Palina is in complete isolation. In the colony, the European Belarus activist's health has deteriorated significantly. The political prisoner was diagnosed with moderate chronic pancreatitis.
