It will pass along completely different parallels and meridians.
The “demilitarized zone” will be arranged on the territory of Russia, and not Ukraine, as Vladimir Putin wants. It will extend to Moscow and St. Petersburg.
This was stated by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov on the air of Ukrainian Radio, commenting on the statement of the head of the Russian Federation that he plans to “create a demilitarized zone” on the territory of Ukraine in order to “avoid attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”
“This demilitarized zone will be at least as far as Moscow, St. Petersburg, we will definitely move it up. The only place where they can croak is no closer to the Urals. Believe me, this will definitely happen,” Danilov assured.
Danilov noted that the crimes of the “modern Adolf Hitler” will not go unpunished, and the “demilitarized zone” will run along different parallels and meridians than Putin wanted.
“Because the civilized world’s response to the crimes committed by those terrorists led by the modern Hitler named Putin is that they will not go unpunished, they will definitely bear responsibility for it,” added the NSDC Secretary.
Earlier, on January 31, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he wants to create a “demilitarized zone” on Ukrainian territory in order to protect Russian regions from shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He claims that the Russian military is already doing this in the Avdiivka direction, pushing the enemy away from key populated areas in Russia.
The United States reacted to this statement by Putin. US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller stressed that Russia must withdraw its troops from Ukraine if it intends to create such a zone.
“It is difficult to establish a demilitarized zone when Russian troops continue to operate on the Ukrainian side of the border, and President Putin has repeatedly made it clear that he has not changed his goal of conquering and subjugating Ukraine,” Miller said.
