Ukraine Is Preparing For Offensive Operation: Expert Called Timing
ALEKSANDR MUSIENKO

Ukrainian forces combined tasks.

Russian troops will reduce the intensity of their offensive actions until April, this forecast was made by the head of the Center for Military and Legal Studies, Oleksandr Musiyenko, on the air of the telethon, a target="_blank" href=https://www.unian.net/war/ukraina-gotovitsya-k-sobstvennoy-nastupatelnoy-operacii-ekspert-nazval-sroki-12533871.html>UNIAN writes.

"There they will take a certain pause to regroup and recover their losses, which are quite significant for Russian troops. And, of course, the Ukrainian forces have the opportunity to conduct tactical offensive operations, which, perhaps, can develop into a certain operational success," Musienko said.

He also added that the Ukrainian troops, which are now in reserve, can be used at the right time to strike by Ukraine.

Musienko noted that the Ukrainian forces could again concentrate the attack in the south, but in a different direction: "Probably, we are talking about the southern direction, where the Black Sea air operation is now taking place and where enemy targets in the occupied Crimea are being hit. It is possible that it can be extended to the ground operation scale, on the Left Bank of the Kherson region."

According to the expert, Russian troops will be forced to pause active assault actions to restore their losses.

"For example, they are now storming Avdiivka. The difference from Bakhmut is that there they conducted meat assaults, and threw many troops in assaults. Here they are also doing like that, but at the same time, they are also using many weapons and losing them. All this needs to be completed, all units, "Musienko explained.

But the expert warns that Russia will not give up all its offensive actions during its pause. So, the enemy will continue to hold the initiative in some areas of the front.

“It's just that they will reduce the activity, intensity and number of forces that will be used. Well, they will obviously be in active defence. We are in active defence now. We have a combined task: to repel numerous enemy attacks and be prepared for the fact that as soon as the opportunity arises – to use the chance that is given to improve our situation at the tactical level, and possibly at the operational level," Musienko concluded.
