Andrei Sharenda: Palina Did Everything She Could During These Years Of Suffering

The husband of the political prisoner commented on the staged video on BT.

Belarusian television showed a propaganda film with the participation of a political prisoner, activist of the European Belarus civil campaign Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk, who has been imprisoned for four years under conditions of torture and pressure.

“It’s very difficult to see Palina in this state. Swollen face and bruises under the eyes. It’s hard to even imagine what she had to go through over the past three and a half years and what they did to her before the video was recorded,” wrote Andrei Sharenda, coordinator of the European Belarus. “The only thing that is known from the official response from the colony is that over the past two months Palina was placed in a punishment cell three times. But the propagandists, of course, did not say this. This means that the new Article 411 and the prison term have already been prepared, and there are only two months left before the end of this one...

Palina no longer has the physical strength to fight back. From the intonation of Palina’s voice, I personally understood that she simply speaks the vast majority of words from dictation, and even emphasizes this. Palina did not obey, she simply accepted the rules of the game for a while in order to survive. Palina did everything she could during these years of suffering.”
