Lukashenka’s Outer Space Disgrace

The case of the Belarusian cosmonaut is not an isolated one.

Lukashenka and space are incompatible things, writes political scientist Dzmitry Balkunets on Telegram, commenting on the cancellation of the launch of the Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft, on which Belarusian cosmonaut Maryna Vasileuskaya was supposed to launch:

— On July 26, 2006, Lukashenka and his entire family arrived in Baikonur to watch the launch of the BelK satellite. The 750-kilogram device was manufactured at RSC Energia by order of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

However, Lukashenka was in for a severe disappointment. At 86 seconds of flight, an emergency shutdown of the launch vehicle engines occurred, and the Dnepr crashed to the ground.

The BT news broadcast a story that the satellite was successfully launched. Then they refuted it.
