French Foreign Minister Refuses To Negotiate With Russian Federation Because Of Shoigu's Lies

Russian propaganda has distorted Paris' stance.

France is not interested in dialogue with Russia after Moscow distorted what Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu said about talks on Ukraine.

"It is not in our interest at this time to have discussions with Russian officials that the press releases and reports they submit are lies," French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejournet told France 24 television channel. He added that trust must be restored between the countries for possible dialogue in the future.

Last week, Reuters, citing a French government source, reported that France, contrary to Russia's claims, did not express "readiness for dialogue" on ending the war in Ukraine during the phone conversation between the two countries' defense ministers.

The Russian Defence Ministry released a statement saying that the head of the ministry, Sergey Shoigu, had discussed the topic of the war in Ukraine with Lecornu. It is claimed that during these talks, "readiness for dialogue" on the settlement of the conflict was noted.
