What's going on?

Two Russian military helicopters came to Belarus on May 25. At the Baranavichy airfield, where they landed, there are also two Russian Su-24MR reconnaissance aircraft and at least four Su-30SM fighters of the Russian Aerospace Forces.

Thus, helicopters of the Russian Armed Forces for the first time since the withdrawal of the Russian helicopter group in August 2023 landed on the territory of Belarus, reports obozrevatel.com.

"On May 25, Mi-24 and Mi-8 helicopters of the Russian Aerospace Forces landed at the Baranavichy airfield comming from Seshcha (Russian Federation). Thus, these are the first and so far the only military helicopters since the withdrawal of the helicopter group of the Russian Armed Forces from Belarus in August 2023," the report reads.

At the moment, the aforementioned two helicopters, as well as (on a permanent basis) two Su-24MR reconnaissance aircraft and at least four Su-30SM fighters of the Russian Aerospace Forces are at the airfield in Baranavichy.

At the same time, an IL-22PP aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces is located at the Belarusian Lida airfield.

Two more fighters of the Russian Aerospace Forces came to escort Putin's twin planes and left Belarus with Putin's planes on the night of May 25.
