Northern European states were invited to join the project ‘Northern Brigade’ during the visit of Deputy Minister of Defence for European Integration Oleksandr Balanutsa to Norway. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defence on Wednesday, September 25.

Under the initiative, each country of Northern Europe can train and arm a Ukrainian battalion.

The Ukrainian official also called on the arms directors of Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Finland and Sweden for bilateral cooperation and investment in the Ukrainian defence industry.

The Ukrainian delegation held a meeting with representatives of defence industry companies - NAMMO, Fjord Defence, FLIR UAS, Kongsberg, Equipnor, Norlense and Rheinmetal.

The sides also discussed Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration and increased assistance to Ukraine under the Nansen programme.
