But at the last minute, they were crossed off the list.

Former political prisoner Igor Losik reported that he was on the release lists with a group of Belarusians who were released and taken abroad in June.

"I was supposed to be released in June together with Ales Bialiatski, but we were crossed off the lists at the last minute by the Belarusian authorities and replaced by others. I was very happy when I found out, I was already counting down the days," wrote Losik in Threads.

Igor Losik was among 52 people released from the Belarusian colonies on September 11. After the release, people were taken to Lithuania, and some former political prisoners had their passports taken away.

September 29, U.S. presidential spokesman John Cole wrote in X (Twitter) that he was working on the release of 63-year-old Ales Bialiatski and other political prisoners in Belarus. Users asked him when Bialiatski might be released, to which Cole replied, "Very soon."
