They will affect every city in the country.
In 2027, all cities in Belarus plan to implement a unified fare payment system for public transportation. Passengers will be able to pay not only with the usual tickets, but also with bank cards or via mobile apps. This was announced by Andrei Gladkyi , head of the Department of Road and Urban Passenger Transport at the Ministry of Transport , according to BelTA.
According to the Ministry of Transport representative, transportation organizations are currently procuring the equipment necessary to implement the new system.
“Such a system is already fully operational in Minsk. By 2027, it will be implemented in all cities,” Gladky said.
In the near future, passengers will be able to pay for public transit trips in several ways: with a paper ticket, a bank card, or via a mobile app.
At the same time, Belarus is developing a unified national ticketing system for commuter and intercity passenger transportation. It is intended to consolidate information on routes, schedules, and available seats, which currently must be searched for on various services.
According to Gladky, the relevant decree has already been signed, and the government has approved the procedure for transferring data to the new information system. Transportation providers will be required to provide information on routes, trips, drivers, and vehicles.
The development of the software is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2026. Starting February 1, 2027, operators and carriers will be able to begin entering the required information.
“We will consolidate resources into a single information system. However, the continued operation of related reservation and ticket sales systems is not prohibited,” Gladky explained.
As a result, passengers will be able to use the unified GIS “Ticket Sales” platform to view available flights, check for open seats, and select a suitable route. Existing booking and ticket-purchasing services will continue to operate.
The Ministry of Transport representative did not specify the exact date when the new platform will become available to passengers.
