Erdogan Signed A Law That The Kremlin Clearly Won't Like

Turkey is "taking away" the Tatars and influence in Central Asia from Russia.

In Turkey, a presidential decree regulating the activities of Turkic foreigners residing in the country came into force. Now citizens of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan, as well as Turkic-speaking residents of Tatarstan (Russia), Eastern Turkmenistan (China), Gagauzia (Moldova), Meskhetia (Georgia) and some other regions will be able to work and do business in Turkey without the need to obtain citizenship and complex permits. The exception is service in the army and law enforcement agencies, TRT reports.

Turkish foreigners receive work permits if they meet the professional requirements established by Turkish law. The Ministry of Labor and Social Security decides on the issuance of permits, taking into account the opinion of the Ministries of Interior and Foreign Affairs.

Foreigners who have received permits are obliged to register in professional associations on an equal footing with Turkish citizens and enjoy all the rights of members, except for participation in elections and the possibility of being elected.
