Reuters: India's Adani Port Did Not Take A Tanker With Russian Oil For Unloading

The under-sanctioned tanker was forced to change port.

The sub-sanctioned tanker Noble Walker with Russian oil was forced to change its port of destination in India. This came after the country's largest port operator Adani Group closed its ports to tankers from Russia's shadow fleet, writes Reuters.

According to shipping reports and data from LSEG and Kpler, the tanker Noble Walker was carrying about a million barrels of Russian crude oil for India's HPCL Mittal Energy refinery. That company receives all its oil through the port of Mundra.

At first, the EU and UK blacklisted vessel was holding course for Mundra, operated by Adani. But after the ban was imposed last Friday, the tanker headed for Vadinar port. The refinery of India's Nayara Energy, which is under EU sanctions and has been abandoned by some Middle Eastern suppliers, is located there.

Another sanctioned tanker, Spartan, carrying 1 million barrels of Russian crude, was anchored near the port of Mundra on Monday waiting to be unloaded.
