Reports Have Emerged Of A Successful Offensive By The Ukrainian Armed Forces

The Ukrainians have recaptured a significant portion of the strong defensive line established in 2023 near Velyka Novoselka.

On the Velikonovoselkovsky front, Ukrainian troops continue their offensive across a wide section of the front against the Russian Federation’s 29th Army. According to the latest OSINT data (geolocated videos, satellite imagery, and posts on Telegram channels), the Ukrainian Armed Forces have advanced several kilometers in the southern sector. OSINT expert Klement Molin writes about this in his blog.

The operation is being carried out by the Airborne Assault Forces, a unit formed specifically for this sector at the beginning of the year. The Russian 29th Army is facing increasing difficulties. The situation is also challenging in the Novopavlovka sector: following the redeployment of the 41st Army toward Dobropillya, few units capable of holding the line remain there.

In the north, Ukrainian troops are advancing from Novopavlovka toward Dachne. Russian assault groups continue to attempt attacks in the direction of Ivanivka but are unable to reach the previously liberated territories. Ukrainian forces continue to cross the Mokrye Yaly River and are penetrating deep into enemy positions in small groups.

According to reports, fighting in the Komara area has been ongoing for over a month. This is evidenced by regular shelling of Ukrainian positions in the wooded areas and settlements to the north and west of the village. Based on the data, Ukrainian forces have also entered Fedorivka, though there is no visual confirmation of this yet. Further south, Ukrainian forces have reached a significant portion of the second line of defense, built in 2023 and stretching almost to Mokrye Yaly.

According to reports from Russian and Ukrainian Telegram channels, Shevchenko is presumably under Ukrainian control. There are also reports of further advances to the south and east, but this information has not been confirmed. There is only one video showing Ukrainian troops in Shevchenko. “For now, I prefer to maintain a broad ‘gray zone’ here due to a lack of information and the frequent presence of Russian troops behind Ukrainian units,” Molin notes.

The expert cites the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ advance to Mokry Yaly as their main success: it will be difficult for Russian forces to cross this river. This allows the front line to be pushed back from key cities and roads in the Dnipropetrovsk region, located at the junction of the Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions. In addition, Ukraine has regained control of a significant portion of the 2023 defensive line, including bunkers that can be used to set up well-protected positions for drone operators.

For now, the Ukrainian military appears to be focused on the battles for Komar and Shevchenko. If these settlements come under Ukrainian control, they will become two important strongholds where troops can be concentrated and sheltered before winter sets in.

Meanwhile, several pontoon bridges have been destroyed in Velyka Novoselka. Pressure on this small settlement, the region’s main logistics hub, continues to mount.
