The world No. 2, Belarusian Arina Sobolenko, failed to advance to the third round of the singles competition at the 2026 Wuhan Open.

In the second-round match of the hard-court 1,000-point tournament, former world No. 1 Arina Sobolenko of Belarus lost in three sets to American Ann Lee (WTA No. 31).

The match, which lasted 2 hours and 28 minutes, ended with a hard-fought victory for 26-year-old American tennis player Ann Lee in a tiebreak, with a score of 3–6, 6–4, 7–6 (7–5).
