Andrei Rybakov was subject to restrictions in 2021.
The U.S. Department of the Treasury has removed the CEO of “Belaruskali” Andrei Rybakov from its sanctions list. This information was posted on the department’s website.
The lifting of U.S. sanctions against “Belaruskali” and its affiliates is linked to the Donald Trump administration’s efforts to establish economic cooperation with the regime of Alexander Lukashenko in Belarus. The U.S. plans to actively purchase Belarusian potash, and the first shipment has already been sent.
One of the results of this process was several waves of releases of Belarusian political prisoners. A significant number of them were deported from the country immediately after their release.
