From October 1 through October 5, the Russian Federation's military casualties rose sharply.
Casualties among the Russian Federation’s occupying forces resulting from strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ unmanned aerial vehicle units from October 1 to 5, 2026, increased by 39.7% compared to the same period in September.
This was reported on his account at Facebook account, the Commander of the SBS Robert “Madyar” Brovdi.
According to Brovdi, while confirmed irrecoverable and medical casualties among the Russian Federation’s army from SBS strikes totaled 1,931 from September 1 to 5, the figure for October was 2,699 (+39.7%).
Compared to the corresponding period in August, enemy losses increased by 76.5%. Brovdi noted that the largest recent increase in Russian army casualties resulting from SBU strikes was recorded in the Dobropillya and Pokrovsk areas of Donetsk Oblast.
On this sector of the front, the enemy lost 1,268 personnel due to SBU strikes from October 1 to 5, compared to 664 during the corresponding period in September (+91%).
According to information from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, from October 1 to 5, 2026, the Russian occupation army lost 8,750 personnel in the war against Ukraine.
In September, the enemy suffered its highest losses of the year—46,230 personnel. In total, from February 24, 2022, through October 6, 2026, the Russian army lost more than 1.5 million personnel killed and wounded.
During this time, Ukrainian defenders destroyed or disabled more than 12,000 Russian tanks and more than 25,000 armored combat vehicles.
