Lukashenko Revealed His Fear Of Drones

The dictator demands that scientists "reset" them.

Lukashenko once again returned to a topic that seems to have been on his mind for several months now, and demanded that Belarusian scientists find a way to deal with drones. Today, October 6, he visited the testing ground of the Academician O. V. Roman Institute of Powder Metallurgy, where an exhibition of military and civilian developments was organized for him.

The dictator expressed doubt that government funds invested in science are yielding the desired results.

“These are substantial government investments. Are they producing the results they can and should produce? Are we getting the return we should be getting? No one needs general talk. The challenges are extraordinary. They must be solved immediately. Without science, we’re going nowhere,” he stated, according to his press service.

Lukashenko identified the creation of an effective countermeasure against drones as the primary task, noting that it must be done immediately.

“If we are smart, capable, advanced, and have character, then let’s do it. We need to neutralize drones. The most advanced countries and companies are tackling this challenge,” he said.

This is not the first time he has made this demand. In early August, at a meeting on the creation of the Academy of Intelligent Technologies, Lukashenko had already expressed hope that the new institution would invent a “specific, extremely powerful means of combating drones” that would “render all these drones in the world useless.”
