Ukraine's defense minister has revealed details of a technological breakthrough.
Ukraine has started system scaling of remote control technology of interceptor drones, which allows to shoot down enemy targets at a distance of hundreds and thousands of kilometers from the operator.
This is reported by Charter97. org.org citing a statement by Ukrainian Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov.
According to the minister, Ukraine has become the first state in the world to systematically scale remote control of interception assets.
The key feature of the technology is that the pilot is no longer tied to a specific position on the frontline. The drone is controlled from a protected environment in rear cities (Kiev, Lviv) or even from abroad.
Fedorov noted that such a solution not only increases the effectiveness of air defense, but also critically reduces risks to the lives of Ukrainian operators.
"This is an example of implementing defense innovations and forming a new standard of air defense. We can scale capabilities without being tied to the contact line," the defense minister stressed.
Today, more than 10 Ukrainian manufacturers have already integrated remote control solutions into their systems. The development of the technology became possible thanks to the Brave1 cluster initiative, which was launched a year ago.
The Defense Ministry aims to achieve 100% detection and at least 95% neutralization of enemy targets as part of the development of "small" air defense.
"Under the President's assignment, we continue to develop innovations to protect the Ukrainian sky. Today we have a confirmed result - shooting down targets at distances of hundreds and thousands of kilometers," - said the head of the department.
