The AFU Has Received Twice As Many Interceptor Drones In Four Months As In 2025

In March alone, these drones destroyed more than 33,000 enemy drones.

Interceptor drones are becoming a key element of sky defense - their supplies have increased dramatically, and their effectiveness is confirmed by combat results.

This is reported by Charter97.org with reference to a Telegram post by Ukraine's Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov.

"The Defense Ministry continues to systematically increase supplies of interceptor drones to strengthen sky defense with 'small' air defense. Since the beginning of 2026, the army has received twice as many of them under DOT's Defense Procurement Agency contracts as in the whole of 2025," Fyodorov noted.

According to him, the supplies are provided through several channels: direct contracts of the Defense Procurement Agency, the program "Drone Army.Bonus" program and DOT-Chain Defense weapons marketplace.

This approach allows to simultaneously scale volumes and ensure continuity of supplies.

The minister noted that interceptor drones have already proved their effectiveness in combat conditions. They reduce the burden on missile air defense, allowing it to focus its resources on countering missile attacks.

"Anti-missile drones are a technological answer to the enemy. They are hundreds of times cheaper than missile systems and dozens of times cheaper than Shaheda, which makes it possible to maximize the use of budgetary resources," Fedorov explained.

He noted that in March, interceptor drones destroyed more than 33,000 enemy drones of various types.

"We continue to scale up deliveries. Protecting the skies is one of the key tasks identified by the President as part of his defense strategy. For this purpose, for the first time in the structure of the Air Force a 'small' air defense command has been created, which strengthens the protection of the sky thanks to interceptor drones," the minister added.

The goal is to ensure stable supply of interceptor drones and strengthen the protection of the Ukrainian sky from attacks by Russian drones.
