Ukraine will respond if the dictator decides to further support the Kremlin.
Ukraine records new attempts to drag Belarus into war. Lukashenko, in particular, is being persuaded to join the Russian military operations. This was reported by President Vladimir Zelensky after a meeting with the heads of Ukrainian security agencies.
Zelensky claims that during recent contacts, the Russians tried to persuade Lukashenko "to join new Russian aggressive operations."
"In particular, Russia is considering plans for operations in directions south and north of the territory of Belarus - either against the Chernihiv-Kiev direction in Ukraine or against one of the NATO countries - precisely from the territory of Belarus. Ukraine owns the details of the conversation between Russia and Belarus. Ukraine will certainly defend itself and its people if Alexander Lukashenko makes a mistake and decides to support this Russian intention as well," Zelensky said.
He added that he instructed the Defense and Security Forces of Ukraine to strengthen this direction and present a plan to respond to possible aggression.
It should be noted that on May 15, Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation. The parties discussed cooperation between Belarus and Russia "in the economy and defense," as well as "upcoming joint activities in these areas," Lukashenko's press service said. The Kremlin said nothing about the conversation.
