Putin's Daughter Played A Role In The Air Defense System Around Moscow

The media have learned the details.

A new missile defense complex has been built in Moscow in the immediate vicinity of a research institute linked to the youngest daughter of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin Katerina Tikhonova. This appears to be yet another attempt by Russian authorities to strengthen the capital’s defenses against potential missile strikes.

The new military facility was deployed on the grounds of the “Innopraktika” Foundation headquarters, a $1.7 billion government-funded project headed by Tikhonova. This was reported by "Radio Liberty".

S-400 near Tikhonova’s foundation

A concrete platform was erected on the grounds of the research institute, on which S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems were deployed. The complex is located on a hill in the city center, less than 10 kilometers from the Kremlin and approximately 300 meters from the Moscow State University building.

According to satellite images of the construction site, its shape and dimensions exactly match those of other similar military facilities in Moscow that were previously identified by journalists. This complex is at least the fifth such facility in the emerging defensive ring within the Russian capital.

Protection against Ukrainian ballistic missiles

Previously, the Russian military had already built similar defensive infrastructure in Moscow, using “Pantsir-S1” air defense missile systems to protect against attacks by Ukrainian drones.

However, the deployment of the new S-400 systems, designed to intercept missiles, appears to be intended to counter ballistic missiles.

The deployment of air defense systems comes amid an increase in attacks by Ukrainian long-range drones on Russian territory in recent months. These strikes have led to the most severe nationwide fuel shortage the country has seen in recent years.

The construction of a new air defense complex on the “Innopraktika” site is further evidence of the special attention Russian authorities are paying to the security of facilities directly linked to Putin and his family.

As a reminder, soldiers from the “Alpha” Special Operations Center of the Security Service of Ukraine carried out successful strikes on the “Vtorovo” line-production-dispatch station in the Vladimir Region of the Russian Federation. This was the second strike this month on the facility, which supplies fuel to Moscow.
