June Heat Wave In Lithuania Breaks Record

June Heat Wave In Lithuania Breaks Record

+36.3°C.

The Lithuanian Meteorological Service reported that on Sunday, the temperature in Druskininkai rose to 36.3°C, setting a new record high for June.

This was reported by meteorologist Paulius Starkus on the air at LRT.

The previous record for June was set in 2019 at the station in Kaišiadorys, where the temperature reached 35.7°C.

“We now have a new all-time record for the highest temperature ever recorded in June,” said Starkus.

Meteo LT reported that this is already the eighth daily temperature record broken this year. In 2025, only 23 such records were recorded; in 2024, 18; in 2023, 16; in 2022, 13; and in 2021, 6.

Between 2021 and 2026, heat records in Lithuania were recorded about eight times more often than cold records.

It should be noted that +37.6 degrees is the new all-time June temperature record in Belarus.
