Media: An Oil Tanker And Dry Cargo Ships Caught Fire In The Russian Town Of Taganrog

The ships could have been hit by UAVs.

Three ships caught fire in the port of Taganrog in the Krasnodar region of Russian Federation, the network said. Local authorities remained silent about the incident, but reported on a drone attack on Sochi and Tuapse that took place a few hours later, "Focus" wrote.

Information about the attack on the ships in Taganrog appeared in the Telegram channel of the Russian media outlet Izvestia. The Russian media outlet, citing unspecified sources, said that a drone attack allegedly took place and three objects - an oil tanker and two dry cargo ships - were affected because of it. It is also stated that 11 people may have been affected, five of them dead and the rest injured.

Russian media wrote about a possible drone strike on the port of Taganrog at 10:35, while the raid itself took place at 5 o'clock. Apart from the fact of the hit and the number of casualties, there are no other details: it is not clear what the ships are called and how seriously they are damaged, which drones attacked and the like.

The operational headquarters of Krasnodar Krai did not write about the attack on the port of Taganrog at the time the news was published. The last information appeared between 9 and 11 o'clock: they warned about drone attacks on Sochi and Tuapse.

Ukrainian command was not informed about the drone attack on Taganrog and the targets hit.

The Russian Defense Ministry wrote in the morning that on the night of June 5 there was an attack by 123 drones: Taganrog was not reported, but there is data about the appearance of UAVs in the waters of the Sea of Azov. On the map of the DeepState project we see that in order to reach the Azov port of the Russian Federation, the drones had to fly 200 kilometers over the Donetsk region's VOT, and they would not have been hindered by Russian air defenses.

Russian tanker strikes - details

The Telegram channel of OSINTers "CyberBoroshno" at about 11 h on June 5 confirmed unofficial information about the drone strike on Taganrog and possible damage to the tanker and dry cargo ships. It is also specified that the number of hits may be more: there are no details.

It should be noted that earlier it became known that Ukraine hit five Russian ships at once in the ports of Mariupol and Berdyansk.
