Bishkek needs 60,000–70,000 metric tons.
Kyrgyzstan plans to establish monthly fuel shipments from Belarus totaling 60,000–70,000 metric tons. This was announced by Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Energy Altynbek Rysbekov.
The need to seek new sources of supply arose amid a fuel shortage in Russia, which is linked to attacks on oil refineries and restrictions on gasoline and diesel exports imposed by Russian authorities.
According to Rysbekov, the supply volumes from Belarus have already been agreed upon. Experts from both countries are currently working out delivery plans and transit arrangements through Russian territory, reports the Kyrgyz publication Tazabek.
“Our Deputy Prime Minister personally traveled there and held talks. Now, at our level, we are developing mechanisms and logistics routes—specifically, how to deliver this fuel from Belarus to Kyrgyzstan. Negotiations with Belarus have been held, and the volumes have been agreed upon,” the minister noted.
He clarified that Kyrgyzstan’s monthly fuel demand is approximately 60,000–70,000 metric tons. It is precisely this volume of supplies that the parties are currently focusing on during further negotiations.
It should be noted that Belarus has unexpectedly begun claiming that the country has no gasoline shortages.
