Ukraine Could Surpass The U.S. In The Production Of Missiles For The Patriot System

A U.S. congressman spoke about the strengths of Ukraine's defense industry.
U.S. defense contractors, including Lockheed Martin, are interested in Ukraine being able to produce interceptor missiles for the Patriot systems. This was stated by Michael McCaul , a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee from Texas , according to Bloomberg.
“I believe it is in their interest for a number of reasons. If the president wants this done, it’s in their best interest to comply with his request,” the official said.
The agency noted that during a meeting at the NATO summit in Ankara, U.S. President Donald Trump told his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyythat Washington could grant Kyiv a license to manufacture missiles for the Patriot systems.
Journalists noted that McColl made this statement during his visit to Ukraine, where, according to him, Ukrainian military officials briefed him on technologies for manufacturing domestically produced drones and the successes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in liberating territories occupied by Russia.
“I think the Ukrainians can build these faster, and perhaps even better. So Lockheed could learn from the Ukrainians when it comes to its own interceptor missiles—how to improve them, how to produce them faster,” the official added, referring to the Patriot missiles.
