Drones Attacked Engels, Where Russian Tu-95MS And Tu-160 Bombers Are Based

The Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out an airstrike on the area around a Russian military airfield.

On the night of Saturday, July 25, the Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked military and strategic targets in Russia’s Saratov Region. According to preliminary reports, targets in the Engels area were struck, including a military unit, according to Dialog.UA after monitoring social media.

An air raid alert was declared in the Saratov Region at approximately 2:05 a.m. Almost immediately afterward, reports of explosions in Engels began to surface.

The governor of the Saratov Region Roman Busargin had not yet commented on the situation in the region at the time this article was written. The central Russian authorities also remained completely silent. Residents of the city of Engels reported a major fire following the Ukrainian attack.

Photos and videos posted online confirm that the strike was successful. OSINT analysts believe the fire occurred on the grounds of one of the Russian Army’s military units.

It is reported that the former headquarters of the 22nd Guards Heavy Bomber Aviation Division of the Russian Armed Forces is on fire.

An ASTRA OSINT analyst noted that facilities belonging to the “Engels-2” military airfield are located very close to the site of the fire. Tu-95MS and Tu-160 strategic missile-carrying bombers, which carry out missile strikes against Ukraine, are based there.
