Syorsky Made A New Statement Following His Resignation As Commander-in-chief Of The Armed Forces Of Ukraine

Former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi issued a new statement following his resignation, in which he spoke about the messages and words of support he received from military leaders of allied nations and NATO, according to UNIAN.

“I am sincerely grateful to our international partners, the military leaders of allied nations and NATO, with whom I have had the honor of working throughout these challenging years,” he noted.

Syrsky said that, in particular, he had received messages from European military leaders—the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, the Chairman of the European Union Military Committee, General Sean Clancy, and the former Chief of the British Defense Staff, Admiral Anthony Radakin.

“I was particularly moved by Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone’s words that the Ukrainian army, through its resilience, adaptability, and adoption of cutting-edge technologies, is already changing NATO’s understanding of modern warfare, and that the experience of our military will become part of future military science. This is the highest praise for all Ukrainian defenders,” he wrote.

In addition, according to Syrsky, Admiral Radakin wrote that Ukraine must tell the world its story of how it managed to repel the Russian army and hold its ground in a war against a significantly stronger enemy.

And General Sean Clancy emphasized that Ukraine’s struggle is not only about defending its own territory but also about defending the principles upon which the security of all of Europe is built.

“All these words are not about me personally. They are about Ukrainian soldiers. About commanders, sergeants, and soldiers. About those who hold the front lines, implement new solutions, train, fight, and, unfortunately, often sacrifice the most precious thing they have for Ukraine,” the former chief of staff emphasized.

As a reminder, on July 21, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy relieved Oleksandr Syrskyi of his duties as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Major General Mykhailo Drapaty was appointed as the new Commander-in-Chief.
