In Ostrovets, The Second Power Unit At The Nuclear Power Plant Has Once Again Been Shut Down

The second power unit at the BelNPP has been taken offline. This was reported by the plant’s press service on the morning of Sunday, July 26.
The second power unit at the BelNPP was disconnected from the grid by plant personnel “to perform diagnostic checks on electrical equipment.”
The shutdown may have been caused by the activation of safety systems or alarms; however, BelNPP has not yet officially disclosed the specific reason.
Plant employees reported that the radiation background has not changed and that the power supply to consumers remains unaffected.
“Once the work is completed, the power unit will be reconnected to the grid,” BelNPP officials promised.
As a reminder, on March 26, 2023, the second power unit at the BelNPP was completely de-energized and disconnected from the power grid.
