June 29 was not only the hottest day on record.
In Grodno and Brest, the minimum air temperature was 24.7 and 23.5 degrees above zero, respectively. The hottest tropical night, with a minimum air temperature of 25.8 degrees, was recorded in Vitebsk on August 8, 2010. On the same day, a new national temperature record of 38.9 degrees was set in Gomel, which was surpassed on June 29 of this year in Pinsk—40.4, reports "Pozirk".
According to Belhydromet, this past June was 1.3 degrees warmer than normal: the average temperature reached 18.3 degrees. More than 20 weather stations set new records for both June and the entire period of instrumental weather observations (each station has its own record).
The lowest air temperature was 0.1 degrees above zero (on the night of June 1 at the “Polesskaya” station in the Luninets District).
Precipitation for the month totaled 66 mm, or 66 liters of water per square meter of area. This is 92% of the climatological norm.
On June 12, Mstislavl recorded hail with a diameter of up to 32 mm, which meets the criteria for a hazardous meteorological phenomenon (20 mm or more).
On June 7 and 8, precipitation at three hydrological stations (HS) and one weather station reached the threshold for a hazardous event (50 mm or more over 12 hours). A very heavy downpour was observed on June 7 near the Gorodishche hydrological station on the Drut River in the Bykhov District—84 mm. The following day, very heavy rain fell at the Chernichy HP (Pripyat River, Zhitkovichi District)—71.4 mm, the Naroch HP—65.8 mm, and in Slutsk—51.8 mm.
The maximum wind speed was recorded in Bragin on June 22—23 m/s.
