The Russian Ambassador Was Summoned To The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry

He was handed a note of protest.

The Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikhail Evdokimov was summoned to the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The diplomat was handed a note of protest, according to a statement from the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

“During the meeting, a strong protest was expressed regarding the drone strike carried out on the evening of July 5 against a SOCAR gas station in the Mykolaiv region of Ukraine, and a corresponding verbal note was delivered to the Russian side,” the statement said.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry also mentioned incidents that occurred in 2025. In particular, it recalled the damage to the Azerbaijani Embassy building in Kyiv and the Honorary Consulate in Kharkiv.

As a reminder, on the night of July 6, the Russian Federation carried out massive combined attack on Ukrainian territory. According to Ukrainian sources, six 3M22 “Zircon”/“Onyx” anti-ship missiles and 23 “Iskander-M”/S-400 ballistic missiles were launched. It is reported that 29 ballistic missiles, including anti-ship missiles, struck their targets.

As a result of the strike on Kyiv, the death toll is rising. In the Darnytskyi and Podilskyi districts of the capital, hits on residential high-rise buildings have been recorded, and civilian facilities have been damaged.
