A Tu-95MS bomber was destroyed in the Saratov Region.
The Security Service of Ukraine struck a Tu-95MS strategic bomber at the Engels military airfield in Russia’s Saratov Oblast. According to preliminary reports, ammunition and fuel/lubricant depots were also struck, and SBU drones traveled approximately 800 km to reach the target.
This was reported by the SBU press center.
“The Security Service of Ukraine carried out another successful special operation, striking a Tu-95MS strategic bomber at the Engels military airfield in the Saratov region of the Russian Federation,” the statement said.
The SBU’s long-range drones traveled approximately 800 kilometers to reach their target.
According to preliminary data, in addition to the aircraft, an ammunition depot and a fuel and lubricants depot were also struck.
This is already the second strategic bomber struck by the SBU in recent months. During the attack on July 17, another Tu-95MS sustained critical damage—its tail section was completely torn off.
“The SBU continues to methodically strike key targets of the Russian military machine. The destruction of the enemy’s strategic aviation means fewer missile carriers capable of striking Ukraine. For Russia, this also represents losses amounting to many millions and further proof that even the most remote military facilities are within reach of Ukrainian forces,” the agency emphasized.
