On the night of August 29, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck military and strategic targets belonging to the Russian occupiers in annexed Crimea. According to preliminary reports, the target of the attack was a Russian military airfield in Gvardeyskoye. This was reported by “Krymsky Veter”.
The occupation administration declared an air raid alert on the peninsula on the evening of August 28. Near Cape Fiolent in Sevastopol, local residents heard several powerful explosions. Around midnight, a series of explosions rocked the Gvardeyskoye area—not far from Simferopol.
It is believed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck the military airfield, which is actively used by the Russian Federation’s occupying army’s air force. According to publicly available information, the 37th Aviation Regiment of the Russian Aerospace Forces is stationed at this base. It is from here that Russian Su-24M frontline bombers and Su-25SM attack aircraft take off to strike Ukrainian troop positions, Ukrainian cities, and civilian infrastructure.

It is noted that the Ukrainian military had previously carried out strikes on the airfield in Gvardeyskoye—in particular, a series of explosions was also recorded there on the night of July 18, 2026.
