Russian Troops Have Been Ordered To Plan An Offensive On Kyiv And Chernihiv

Ukraine is ready to respond.

Ukrainian intelligence has confirmed that the Russian military leadership has been tasked with developing a plan for offensive operations in the direction of Kyiv and Chernihiv.

“We have indeed received information from intelligence services—confirmed by multiple sources—that the military leadership of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation has been tasked by the political leadership with planning several scenarios for such an operation toward Kyiv and Chernihiv,” — said Deputy Head of the Office of the President, Brigadier General Pavel Palisa, during a conversation with journalists, as reported by unian.net.

“I ask you to take note: plan and prepare. That is, indeed, several options were considered there. Accordingly, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has developed possible options for response, defense, protection, and countermeasures against these actions,” he noted.

Palis emphasized that Ukraine is currently not observing the formation of Russian offensive groups in these directions, so there is no immediate threat of an offensive at this time.

According to him, Russia is merely working through various scenarios, whereas the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has already prepared options for defense and countermeasures.

The Deputy Head of the Presidential Office stated that Ukraine is focused on preventing conditions that would allow Russian troops to launch an offensive.

This is not the first time government officials have suggested that the Russians are preparing a new offensive against Ukraine.
