New Photos Of Maduro From A U.S. Prison Have Surfaced

What the former Venezuelan dictator looks like today.

Former Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro is currently in prison in New York. A photo of Maduro from prison was posted on his social media accounts. The photo was taken back in June. In it, the politician is standing in a gray tracksuit and white sneakers, smiling.

“I’m sending these photos as a small gift to all my grandsons and granddaughters, my children, and all the good people who love us,” Maduro captioned the photo.

Maduro and his wife were captured at their residence on the night of January 3, 2026, as a result of a U.S. special operation. They were subsequently taken to a prison in New York.

As a reminder, on the night of January 2–3, the U.S. carried out a special operation in Venezuela. Members of the elite Delta Force unit captured Maduro and his wife Silvia Flores and transported them out of the country.

The couple was then taken to New York. U.S. authorities charged Maduro with narco-terrorism, conspiracy to import cocaine into the United States, and weapons-related crimes. He is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
