Zakharova Threw A Tantrum Over The Closure Of The "Russian House" In Berlin
Maria Zakharova

The incident was triggered by a drone attack carrying explosives at a German airport.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that Germany will receive a “fitting response” for its decision to close the “Russian House” in Berlin and the Russian Consulate General in Bonn.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine.

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul announced these measures in response to a hybrid attack by Russia —triggered by the incident involving a drone loaded with explosives that was discovered last month near a Ukrainian cargo plane at Leipzig/Halle Airport.

In addition to closing the consulate and the “Russian House,” the German side also announced the expansion of the EU sanctions lists to include new individuals.

What Zakharova said

“Both the ‘Russian House’ and our Consulate General in Bonn have long been a thorn in the side of the ruling elite. Now they’ve come up with an excuse. Well then—they’ll get a fitting response,” said the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson.

According to her, Berlin has once again chosen to escalate bilateral relations “under a completely contrived and fabricated pretext,” and no convincing evidence of Russia’s involvement has been presented.

Zakharova also accused Germany itself of “fanning the flames of the Ukrainian conflict” and “participating in terrorist attacks against civilians,” adding that Moscow will respond to all “anti-Russian decisions.”

As a reminder, on the night of August 5, a drone carrying explosives was discovered near a Ukrainian An-124 cargo plane at Leipzig Airport, causing the airport to temporarily suspend operations.
