Russia Struck A British American Tobacco Tobacco Factory In Ukraine

A fire broke out on the roof of the cigarette factory.
A Russian strike on Pryluky in the Chernihiv region caused a fire at a tobacco factory owned by the multinational corporation British American Tobacco (BAT). This was reported by “Suspilne” citing its correspondent at the scene.
According to factory workers, the roof of the cigarette production facility caught fire. Firefighters are extinguishing the blaze. At the time of the attack, factory employees were taking shelter, so no one was injured. One woman received medical assistance due to an acute stress reaction.
The factory in Pryluky is one of the oldest tobacco enterprises in Ukraine. It was founded in 1889, and in 1993, British American Tobacco Industries and the collective enterprise “Prilutskaya Tobacco Factory” established the joint venture “VAT-Priluki.”
Less than two weeks earlier, a Russian strike destroyed the large “Khortytsia” distillery in Zaporizhzhia. The facility was attacked on August 27 and, according to its owner, Global Spirits, cannot be restored.
As the company reported, the plant was hit four times, after which the fire raged for at least three hours. As a result, 3–4 million bottles of finished products were destroyed or damaged. Some of the products burned up, while the rest melted and must be disposed of. In addition to “Khortytsia” vodka, the plant produced products under the brands “Morosha,” “Pervak,” “Medovaya,” “Pshenichnaya Sleza,” and Gold Ukraine.
The plant employed more than 500 people, and its production lines could bottle up to 16 bottles per second. Global Spirits estimated the average cost of each destroyed unit of product at approximately 100 hryvnias; the excise tax on it had already been paid.
